Applying for Transitional Kindergarten

Beth Hillel Day School offers a transitional kindergarten program for children who have already successfully completed a pre-k class but are either not old enough or not quite ready for kindergarten. There is abundant research showing that giving children an additional year and having them start kindergarten at age 5 is best for long-term development.

The TK is a full day program filled with lively and engaging activities as well as meaningful learning. Students will have the opportunity to develop their writing, phonics, math, language arts and social skills. Students will also have all the benefits of a Beth Hillel Day School education including regular instruction in art, music, technology, physical education, Hebrew and Jewish Studies.

Students will receive priority consideration for Beth Hillel Day School’s kindergarten class. This program is open to families whether they plan to attend a Jewish Day School, independent private school or public elementary school.

Space is limited. To be eligible, students must be five years old by December 2nd. Please contact our Admissions Director, Evelyn Drapkin, at (818) 763-9148 ext. 144 for more information, a tour of our school and/or application forms.
