Mission and Philosophy

Our Mission

At Beth Hillel Day School, we are committed to developing the academic skills, individual talents and Jewish identity of every child within a warm, inclusive school community affiliated with the Reform Movement.

Our Philosophy

Beth Hillel Day School is a coeducational Jewish elementary school founded in 1994 by a group of Temple families, clergy and leadership committed to nurturing their children in both secular and Judaic education. Beth Hillel Day School provides an educational experience that immerses students in critical thinking, problem solving, creative expression and  collaborative learning.  Our small classes allow teachers to appreciate and challenge each child while nurturing their natural curiosity.  Our joyful, hands-on approach inspires students to be self-directed and confident learners who willingly take on new challenges. Jewish values inform every aspect of our curriculum so students emerge with a strong Jewish identity that enables them to make wise choices as adolescents and adults.  Students learn Hebrew using immersion methodology, developing a personal connection to the state of Israel and appreciation for Hebrew as the language of the Jewish people.

In our warm, caring community, students love to learn.  Students discover and develop their talents through classes in art, music, physical education and technology.  They create original, imaginative work in the visual and performing arts. Through academics, performances, school assemblies, and social action projects, every child has an opportunity to be a leader.  The school seeks students who are motivated to learn, faculty who are engaged in professional learning and thoughtful reflection, and parents who work in partnership with the school.
