The Arts
“Had it not been for the wonderful, safe and nurturing environment at Beth Hillel, I would never have delved into the world of theater and acting. It was there that I found my voice and my passion.”
- Zachary, Beth Hillel Day School Class of 2002, LACHSA (LA County High School for the Arts) Class of 2009
Beth Hillel Day School offers a range of specialists and enrichment activities so that students can discover and nurture their individual talents.
During weekly art instruction, students learn the elements and principles of art. They explore themes in art through the disciplines of aesthetics, art criticism, art history and art making. Students work is collected in individual portfolios and displayed during our spring Art Show.
In our music program, students discover a variety of musical styles through rhythm, movement, instrumental and vocal music. Students learn to play the recorder and percussion instruments and are introduced to musical theory and notation. Students enjoy visits by classical musicians and participate in music related field trips. Students are always excited to demonstrate their musical knowledge at our Annual Concerts.
After school enrichment classes augment our arts curriculum. Each year our popular Drama Club puts on a musical theatre production. Other classes are offered based on student interest.
