We are committed to offering our students a quality Jewish Education. To this end, the religious school administration and the Religious School Committee have adopted the following policies, which apply to every individual in our school. It is our sincere hope that eachstudent will experience a rewarding education in a positive, productive learning environment. In order to ensure the quality of our schoolprograms and education, the Religious School Committee has established the following rules and regulations for all students to abide by.

Attendance

Studentsare expected to attend classes on a regular basis, and must attenda minimum of 75% of all class sessionsin order to be advanced to the next grade level, or to become Bar/BatMitzvah as per the policies set by the Bureau of Jewish Educationand the TBH Religious School Committee.

If a student misses more than 25% (7 absencesfor students who attend once a week; 15 absences for students whoattend twice a week) he/she will be expected to complete make-upwork, or meet with a tutor at a cost tothe student’s family. Other special arrangements maybe made with the Director of the Religious School. We know thatthere are many demands in your daily schedules, but we hope thatReligious School is a priority.

In accordance with the policy of TempleBeth Hillel, students must complete four years of classes, 5 hoursa week, prior to becoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Students mustbe enrolled and attending Temple Beth Hillel Religious School throughthe school year of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

Students in the 4th-9th grade also mustparticipate in the annual conclave retreats.

We encourage all students and their familiesto attend Shabbat and Holiday services regularly. Each grade willbe having a designated Shabbat Service that we encourage every studentand their family to attend.

We expect all students to continue theirJewish Education, beyond Bar/Bat Mitzvah, leading to their Confirmationat the end of 11th grade.
