Temple Beth Hillel, the smart choice for your next event

Booking a Facility

Choice: At Temple Beth Hillel, you are not limited to one caterer*. You choose the one that meets your needs, based on cuisine, taste, creativity and cost. (*The Temple Beth Hillel catering committee must approve all caterers.)

Convenience: After your service at Temple Beth Hillel, the party begins. Your guests will be thrilled when they start eating and mingling immediately rather than driving in traffic to another location.

Cost: At Temple Beth Hillel there is no need to rent tables, chairs or a dance floor. They are all included.

Creativity: The social hall at Temple Beth Hillel is your blank slate. You can decorate it as lavishly or as simply as you like. We have pictures and suggestions from past events to help spur your imagination. The room is 40' x 54' with a 200 person seating capacity including a dance floor. An additional 17 feet is available between the social hall and sanctuary. A microphone, podium and projection screen are available at no extra charge.

Flexibility: Temple Beth Hillel's facilities can be used in many ways to best suit your needs. For instance, the patio can be used for appetizers. Or if you would like to separate the music from fine dining, consider renting the Activities Building as well as the Social Hall.

Parking – Your guests will appreciate the secure parking on premise as well as additional convenient parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

Vendor Referral Guide

This guide provides a listing of vendors that have successfully serviced many of our congregants. To help you with the selection process, we have given you a list of things to consider when hiring vendors. At minimum, you should check references, see samples of past work, and obtain quotations in writing.

Best wishes for a happy simcha!

CATERERS

Ask prospective caterers:

  • Do they use all fresh food and produce? Will any of the food be frozen or canned?
  • What will be done with the leftovers? You may chose to have the food donated to a homeless shelter or packed up and brought home.
  • Check to see if the caterer’s quote is based on a minimum number of guests. Make sure you plan to meet this minimum.
  • Does the caterer supply linens and rentals? What are the costs?
  • Will the catering company provide a wait-staff? What is the required dress code for their staff? Be sure to ask the caterer if taxes and gratuity are included in the final bid.

The caterers below have done many successful events at Temple Beth Hillel. They each have a long referral list of happy customers.

DECORATIONS

Things to consider when planning decorations:

  • Style: Consider the designer’s philosophy—minimalist, traditional, elegant, edgy—and determine whether it matches your style preferences.
  • Samples: Before choosing decorations, it is very important to see samples of your professional’s work. Start with pictures but also look at live samples. For flowers, check to see if petal edges look fresh without brown edges.
  • Budget considerations: In general, balloons are less expensive than flowers. Does the florist or balloon vendor’s quotation include delivery and set-up if desired?
  • Has your decorator worked at your site before? If so, he/she may have pictures of arrangements that work well.
