TK/Kindergarten
TK/Kindergarten
Our ECE program also includes a multi-age Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten classroom. This elementary school program is offered as an extension of our preschool because we believe that the transition to elementary school is a formative experience for children. For many starting the elementary school experience in a smaller and developmentally-centered environment makes this adjustment a smoother and more positive experience. Our TK and Kindergarten classroom is led by an award-winning kindergarten educator and accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
In this program students really launch into the academic learning process and elementary school curriculum including research-backed programs including Handwriting Without Tears, Readers and Writer’s Workshop, Math in Focus and other programs selected for their effectiveness and scaffold ability. Students continue to engage in thematic learning that strengthens their executive functioning capabilities, social skills, and fine motor control.
The program also provides a well rounded school experience with plenty of time for freeplay, enriched specialist classes including Music, Hebrew, Physical education, and more.
Navigating your child’s pathway to elementary school and considering a TK or Kindergarten placement are decisions that are important and individualized. Our Director hosts several conversations and events throughout the year to help your family understand the possible pathways and guide you to a purposeful path forward.
