Meet our Scholar in Residence

Jordan B. Gorfinkel—known as Gorf—is a veteran Batman Editor, his creations (Batman: No Man’s Land; Birds Of Prey) serving as the inspiration for television, movies and games. His studio Avalanche Comics Entertainment produces entertainment and branding content for corporations and multi-media. As a cartoonist, Gorf produces the weekly comic strip @JewishCartoon (Instagram, Facebook). He is the creator/producer of the #1 bestselling Passover Haggadah Graphic Novel and Esther Graphic Novel (Koren Pub., Jerusalem), and is at the forefront of Jewish Graphic Novel Initiative. As a musician, Gorf pioneered professional Jewish A cappella; and with his all (Jewish) star vocal groups Kol Zimra & the Y-Studs brings harmony—vocal and communal—to events and services.
